Mesilla Valley Baptist Church began as a church in 1971 with a passion to reach people across the street and around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church began on the second floor of Ernesto and Elisa Prieto’s home across from the Mesilla elementary school.
In 1974 the opportunity to buy the land of this current church opened and Brother Ernesto Prieto took the opportunity, bought the land and started building the church which is now our fellowship hall. Pastor Ernesto Prieto lead the church until about 2009. Tim Reyes and Jerry Barreras served as interim pastors between the years 2000 to 2008, each serving the church for about two years each.
While experiencing a rich history of making a difference in the Kingdom of God, on Sunday December 13th, 2009, MVBC began a new chapter by calling Guillermo Hernandez as their Pastor serving as a pastor until this day.
